Noreen Legault Mendoza is an award-winning writer, producer, and STEAM programming consultant promoting technological proficiency of all ages and abilities. She created and designed all aspects of one-of-a-kind, all-inclusive STEAM camps and after-school programs for the City of Miami. Noreen served up to 1900 school children and seniors throughout the year with students ranging from six years old to 86 years young. Under her direction the City of Miami Parks Department was awarded the FRPA award for Innovative Programming in 2018.
As the founding director of Geeki Girl she produced groundbreaking educational events for hands-on seminars promoting STEM research curriculum with audiences of up to 400 middle school attendees and 50+ presenters. Sponsors included Florida International University, NASA, Miami-Dade County Commissioners, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Microsoft, Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue and Police Department.
Noreen has presented seminars on STEAM education at the Miami Children's Museum, FRPA conferences in 2018 and 2019 as well as NRPA in 2019. She is a graduate from New York University, Tisch School of Arts. Noreen was appointed to the Miami Beach Film & Entertainment Commission, and Miami-Dade Commission for Women, and sat on Miami-Dade Public School’s STEM Board. Noreen is happiest when snorkeling, dancing, and learning anything new.
